About the App

Wordle Scorekeeper is a simple, private tool for groups of friends or family who play the New York Times Wordle game. Players submit their daily emoji grids via SMS to a dedicated toll-free number. The app validates the submission against the correct daily Wordle game number, records the score (counting "X" as 7 guesses), ignores extra text like comments or signatures, and compiles individual and team results.

Teams compete weekly (resetting Sundays) based on the lowest total guesses. Non-participants don't penalize their team. Daily reminders sent around 3 PM if scores are missing. Results broadcast via short SMS (<160 chars).

This is a non-commercial, private activity for a closed group—no public signups, no marketing messages.

How It Works (SMS Flow)

• Players text their full Wordle emoji grid (e.g., Wordle 1,682 3/6 followed by grid) to our toll-free number.
• App checks game number matches today's NYT Wordle; replies with confirmation or error (e.g., "Wrong game number—today is XXXX").
• Valid scores recorded; extras (birthdays, weather, other games) ignored.
• Daily/weekly summaries sent to participants (e.g., "Boys: 15 guesses today | Cumulative: Boys lead by 2").
• Manual entry available for non-texters via admin.

Consent & Opt-In

Users opt in by voluntarily texting their Wordle grid to the toll-free number, implying consent to receive automated replies: score confirmations, error messages, daily prompts, and weekly summaries.
