Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Wordle Scorekeeper service ("Service"), a private SMS-based tool for tracking and scoring New York Times Wordle results among a closed group of friends and family.

By texting a Wordle emoji grid to our toll-free number, requesting manual score entry, or otherwise participating, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service is operated privately by Joe McVerry (Raleigh, NC) as a non-commercial hobby project. It is not available for public signup or commercial use.

Description of the Service

The Service allows group members to:

• Submit daily Wordle emoji grids via SMS to our Twilio-powered toll-free number.
• Have submissions validated against the correct daily NYT Wordle game number (incorrect game numbers rejected with error reply).
• Record valid scores (guesses count; "X/6" = 7 guesses; extra text like comments, birthdays, or other game results ignored).
• Compile individual and team scores (teams from stored contacts: name, team, phone).
• Compete weekly (lowest total team guesses wins; resets Sundays; non-participants have no impact that day/week).
• Receive short SMS (<160 characters): confirmations, error messages, ~3 PM reminders if missing, daily/weekly summaries.
• Request manual score entry if unable to text (contact admin).

The Service is limited to this private group activity—no marketing, promotions, or unrelated messages are sent.

Consent, Opt-In, and Opt-Out

By sending your first Wordle grid via SMS, you consent to receive automated notifications related to scoring (VIA_TEXT opt-in for this private group).

Opt-Out: Reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) to any message to unsubscribe immediately. No further messages will be sent, and your participation ends (historical scores may remain anonymized for group reference).

User Responsibilities

• Provide accurate Wordle submissions only (no spam, harassment, or prohibited content).
• Use only your own phone number; do not share the toll-free number publicly.
• Understand standard carrier message/data rates may apply (we charge nothing).
• Report issues or request manual entry via support@wordlescorekeeperorg.org.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, perfect accuracy (e.g., parsing errors rare but possible), or delivery of every SMS (subject to carrier/Twilio reliability).

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including lost scores, team disputes, or carrier fees.

This is a hobby project for fun—participation is voluntary.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Changes will be posted here with the updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
